Ed and Alison at Briarhurst Manor

7 07 2009

As Ed waited beneath a gazebo draped with tropical flowers and palm branches, Alison arrived at Briarhurst Manor in their vintage Chevelle escorted by her father.  It was a day Alison had painstakingly planned, and it came together beautifully.

I was referred to Ed and Alison by Melissa Rich of Melissa Rich Photography and am so thankful.  What a fun couple!  Their wedding had an island theme, which, as it turns out, fit perfectly with the brief rain that hit during the reception.  No problem for these two!  Dinner was diverted inside the Manor, and the partying resumed outside shortly thereafter with mojitos and dancing.  Doesn’t get better than that!

Ed and Alison, I felt so blessed to share your day.  You are a great pair and I know you’ll have a wonderful life together!

Matt & Greta at Chico Hot Springs

29 06 2009

Under any circumstances, Chico Hot Springs is a stunning place to get married.  Happily, the sun shone brightly last Monday morning and the mountains were framed by an incredible blue sky dotted with puffy, white clouds providing an absolutely perfect backdrop for Matt and Greta’s wedding.   They deserved it, because last fall they endured chilling temperatures and snow during their engagement photographs!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a big softie and mist up at every wedding I photograph.  This one was no exception and I could just feel my heartstrings tug when Matt and Greta made their toasts, sharing all the qualities they respect and admire in one another.  Sooooo heartfelt and sweet.   They clearly adore each other!

Matt and Greta, I have been so blessed to get to know you two.  Thank you for having me share your day!

Married: Melissa & Jeremy

25 06 2009

I had the pleasure of spending both Friday evening and all day Saturday with the Bradley and Sukut families.  What a great time.  This group knows how to have fun!  High energy and smiles all day and well into the night.  Even with various mishaps, all I saw was grace and good humor.  That speaks volumes and is exactly why I loved every minute I spent with them.

Melissa and Jeremy, you two are such a sweet couple.  I hope you are having a fantastic time in Maui!  Thank you for welcoming me into your family!

Getting into a wedding gown with yards of satin and tulle can be a team effort.  Melissa had such a radiant smile during the whole process….

Olivia and Dakota had a blast the day of the wedding.  If only I had as much energy as they do!

Brittany & Tory at Garden of the Gods

14 06 2009

God has definitely been smiling on me and my clients.

Another engagement session down to the wire!  Several weeks prior we had scheduled the 12th for Brittany and Tory’s engagement session at Garden of the Gods.  I knew the weather had to be perfect to get the kind of photographs I wanted for them.  With full sun, those beautiful, red rock formations light up, but with cloud cover they can look just  bland.  Thankfully, after a night of thunderstorms and an early morning of low-lying fog and clouds, we had sun and bright blue skies just in time.  We couldn’t have asked for a better morning!

Brittany and Tory were fantastic and willing to climb all over those rocks (Brittany in a skirt and flip-flops, no less!)  then traipse through bushes and meadows to get some different perspectives.  I can’t imagine photos at Garden of the Gods without taking full advantage of everything it has to offer!

Thanks you two for a great session!  I had a blast!

Jamie & Travis

11 06 2009

The weather has presented quite a challenge this month to say the least!  As I was driving up to Denver on Sunday afternoon, I could see that half the sky was blue with white clouds, and the other half was just a mess of dark gray storm clouds.  All I could do was pray that the storm would be moving out in time for our session!

I had a blast driving around Denver with Jamie and Travis, and though Travis was supposedly not quite comfortable in front of the camera, I couldn’t tell at all!  They were so natural and loving that it was super easy to photograph them.  Thanks Jamie and Travis for a great afternoon!
