Studio Shoot with AM/PM Photography

18 01 2010

Had a great time Sunday afternoon with my new friends Paul and Amy from AM/PM Photography!  Paul and Amy are a husband and wife photographer team who I met recently through the Colorado Springs chapter of the Mile High Photographers club.  They are hilarious to be around!  Paul was getting some portfolio shots for Travis and was gracious enough to let me jump in.  It’s easy to tell from the photos that Travis is a natural in front of the camera; even better, he was friendly and easy to work with.  Thanks guys for a fun afternoon!

Clearly a face that the camera loves!

Engaged: Heather & Cody in LoDo

11 11 2009

After ten years of photographing sweeping landscapes in Montana, it has been a blast for me to have so many sessions in Denver.   I’ve already found some favorite locations, but I could find a new one each time if I wanted to!

Heather and Cody took me on a tour of LoDo and some their own favorite spots: Delaney’s Bar where they met, The Oxford Hotel where they will be married next year, and The Tattered Cover (very cool bookstore where we got some fun kissing shots and drove off a customer…)  And what’s a photo shoot without getting yelled at in Union Station for breaking the rules and standing on the benches?  (Hey, I’m short and I occasionally need a boost up to get the shot I want!)

Thanks Heather and Cody for a fun photo shoot!  I can’t wait for the wedding!

Engaged: Jenny & Chad

10 11 2009

Headed to Boulder on Saturday to photograph Jenny and Chad at the CU campus.  The campus was busy with fans getting ready to cheer on the Buffaloes (managed to edge out Texas A&M 35 to 34!), which made it a fun place to have the session.  Despite feeling under the weather, Chad ROCKED and went through with the session.  He and Jenny are such a nice couple and we had fun wandering around; college campuses are the perfect place to get a mix of architectural and landscape shots.  Afterward, they took me and my kids to lunch at Thunderbird Burgers and BBQ where Chad is co-owner.  I encourage anyone who gets the chance to stop by!  The BBQ is great and it’s always a good idea to support great folks.  Thanks for your generosity Chad and Jenny!

Engaged: Fadia & Phillip

26 10 2009

At the past two bridal shows I’ve attended, I have given away a couple of engagement sessions with a custom designed hardcover book.  I firmly believe in giving an actual prize with no strings attached, and it is always fun when the couple realizes they’ve just won a prize worth $450 and don’t have to pay a dime!

Fadia & Phillip were one of the lucky winners this August at the Rocky Mountain Bridal Show.  I had a great time with them on Friday walking through the Garden of the Gods park and enjoying the beautiful (albeit a bit chilly!) day.  They were up for anything, and Fadia even scaled the formations in high heels to get some shots.  Tough women rock!

Tory & Brittany at Garden of the Gods

25 10 2009

Sometimes everything falls into place perfectly….    a beautiful venue, a gorgeous couple, and perhaps the most difficult of all, great weather!  Tory and Brittany’s wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club was perfect from beginning to end.  It seems like just yesterday we were sitting at the coffee house planning their engagement session!

Brittany and Tory, I’m so thrilled that you chose me to photograph your wedding.  You two have been an absolute blast to work with and your enthusiasm made my job so much fun!  Have a safe trip to Hawaii and enjoy a well-deserved rest!
